Why Meditation is Important

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Meditation simply allows us to take it all in, without judgment, without stress, without a feeling of time pressures. By living mindfully and appreciating every moment for exactly what it is, good and bad, we allow our opinions to be just thoughts rather than allowing them to limit our possibilities for growth. When we are so attached to our opinions and judgments of how things should or should not be, we limit our possibility for growth. It’s as if our opinions can form a barrier, like a dark cloud blocking the sunshine.

Sometimes it’s obvious when limiting beliefs are holding us back from our true potential. However, sometimes it’s not. Meditation can allow you the time for clarity of thought so you can discover if this may be true for you.

Think of the things that you allowed yourself to do when you were a child - before being a “responsible adult” set in. The key here is that for many people, childhood was a time of discovery. We didn’t have all the answers and we didn’t care that we didn’t have all the answers. We allowed ourselves to live fully in each moment.

How to Meditate - 3 Simple Strategies

Monday, August 18th, 2008

Here are three simple strategies that can help you get the most from your meditation:

1. Choose the best time and place. Because of our different schedules and harried lives, not everyone will find the same time best for them. The time of day is not really so important as long as you pick a time that works well for you.

2. Clear your mind. Even when we are still, our minds continue to think. It’s easy to allow the problems of the day to come into your mind while you’re trying to meditate. It’s important that you focus your attention on meditating and work to clear your mind.

3. Find your inner peace. Find your place of inner peace when you meditate. It’s the place inside of you that’s quiet and far away from the cares of the world.

Acne Scars and How Long They Take to Heal!

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

Acne scars are generally one of the most distressing factors of having acne, they can even be worse than having acne itself, as they take longer to heal and can look worse then a mundane pimple. Sufferers with acne scars usually have low self-esteem and confidence directly because of these scars.

Naturally, they want to get rid of them as quickly as possible, but how do you go about getting rid of acne scars?

First of all you must look at what causes them and in turn you can target this cause and treat it at its core. When the pimples appears, the body releases many white blood cells, these white blood cells form the scars you see on your skin.

One of the best proven and effective way to get rid of acne scars is quite simple; time. All acne scars will heal and fade over time, but this may taken months of even years, and nobody wants to wait that long for something that visible to be treated, you want to speed it up as much as possible.

There are many factors affecting healing period, such as the type of acne - nodule or pimple and if you picked/squeezed it before it was ready to be popped. You must also be aware that all acne scars will not heal completely, the skin has been seriously damaged and that is something that can be very hard to heal.
