In another article I suggested that we all get fat for a reason, overeating is a symptom of something wrong. So the solution isn’t as easy as focussing on eating less, although that should work it’s unlikely to in practice as the original problem hasn’t been fixed. In this article I’d like to explain what I meant by that and give some suggestions for the way out.fat-man

Your self-esteem is our own internal measurements how much we feel liked, allowed and is evaluated. It develops slowly and usually towards the end of our years of adolescence is entirely formed. These is tinted glasses that we look through seeing the world. He ’s also how we imagine the world sees us too.

My strong belief is that during our upbringing, no matter how loving our parents were they didn’t 100% fulfil our needs. It is just impossible to do so they are bound to fail. We would have viewed some of that behaviour as abusive - “they hurt me on purpose“.

This is the starting point. We all believe - to a greater or lesser extent - that we had a rough childhood. Without doubt some children did get abused, either physically or sexually. That is a rare but sad reality. What makes it even sadder is that the shame that goes with it often means that it is a guilty secret that the child keeps from the world. Over years it gets hidden and we ‘forget about it’. Only the hurt hasn’t gone away it’s just under the surface.

Diets will never teach you anything. All you will get is an unrealistic meal plan to follow. Since the meal plan is unrealistic, it is only a matter of time before you start to cheat. The main reason people cheat is because they end up missing certain foods.

What you want to do is find a program that will teach you how to change the way you eat. The first thing you will learn is that it is more important to know WHEN to eat instead of what to eat. Knowing when to eat will allow you to eat those “bad” foods and still lose body fat. The other thing you want to learn is moderation. Just because you can still eat those “bad” foods does not mean you can still eat them all the time.

Any body can lose their body fat. But only by changing how you eat will you be able to keep it off for good. So learn how put together a realistic meal plan and stop waisting you time with all those diets. Start to lose body fat todays and keep it off for tomorrow.
