The Right Way to Detox Your Body

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

To feel and look better some believe today that you should detox your body. That may indeed be an excellent option for you. Imagine how much better you will feel when you detox your body. With a better functioning body, you will be able to do more of the things you like to do, and with less pain and more energy.health3

As you research the best ways to detox the body, I want you to consider something very important.

But first, my advice does not apply to conventional medicine detoxification programs such as dialysis, and those that rehabilitate alcohol or drug addictions.

My focus is on your using natural body cleansing methods such as detox diets, colon hydrotherapy, and detox baths.

No matter which method you decide on to detox the body, it’s a good bet that most beneficial natural body cleansing programs involve the use of water.

For example, water is an important part of most liquid diets. Of course water is the only component of water fasts. And water is primary to saunas, enemas, contrast showers, and the Aqua Detox.

You have probably heard that the body is over 70% water. But did you know that the brain is more than 75% water? Blood is 80% water, and the liver is 95% water.

Technology used in hearing aids

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Hearing aids have a great role to play in a human being’s life especially when they grow old. The body will go through many changes with the passage of time. It is absolutely normal for a person to find it difficult to hear when they grow old. They become hearing impaired in the later stages of life. There are many other causes for hearing problems too. Hearing aids are the only way to deal with this problem. They may not become completely deaf, but may find it hard to hear faint noises. Most of the people will be devastated to find that they have problems in hearing properly.health2

However, most of the people who are depending on the hearing aids to rectify their hearing problems have concerns about the working of these devices. A good majority of these people are not aware of the technology used in these devices. Even though, hearing aids are in the market for a very long time, the technology used in them is not clear to the users. There were many devices used in the past to rectify the hearing related problems. Most of these devices had similar parts and the working was also similar. With the advancement in technology, these devices also changed.

The most significant part of any hearing aid is microphones. They work just like the normal microphones. Their main function is to make the sound louder. The sound that enters the microphone will be converted into digital signals and then converted back into sound with higher volume. Almost all the hearing aids can be customized for the usage of customers. User environment and the type of hearing problem will be taken into consideration when they are customizing the hearing aids. There are hearing aids that even offer directional microphones. The directional microphones will help you to amplify the sounds that are coming from the front and reduce the background noises.

Stress Fractures

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

Stress fractures usually start out as a minor discomfort in the foot or leg, that occurs near the end of a long run. Usually the pain goes away as soon as the athlete stops running.health2

Stress fractures are small cracks in the bone caused by repetitive stresses or overuse, such as the repetitive impact on the bones of the lower leg and foot during running and jumping activities.

When the human body is subjected to a slight increase in workload it will adapt by getting stronger. The bones, tendons and muscles will all change to handle the increase.

The risk of hip stress fractures may increase for a number of reasons. While some of these reasons are out of our control, others can be avoided or at least mitigated.

Fortunately, if you use the right techniques you can quickly get over your shin splint stress fracture and it will be like the problem never existed in the first place.

Consider stress fracture as a diagnosis in adolescent athletes complaining of worsening vague pain without a clear mechanism of injury.

Calcium is carried from bones by cells called osteoclasts and carried into bones by cells called osteoblasts. Bisphosphonates such as pamidronate prevent osteoclasts from carrying calcium from bones.

Increasing levels of pain reported in the part during activities or exercise is the typical pattern of presentation, with a recent upturn in the intensity or frequency of training often reported.

Fracture of the fifth is the most common injury. This results from the twisting of the ankle. This kind of fracture doesn’t need to be surgically repaired. Walking immediately in a removable plastic cast is usually advised.

Massage therapy is a treatment option which can reduce pain and discomfort in the soft tissue surrounding a fracture injury, and it can also assist in reducing edema and muscle tension.

Most Hallux fractures involve the distal aspect or the tip of the Great Toe. These stubbing type of injuries usually are diagnosed with x-ray and treated according to the severity of the fracture.

Stress can come from the everyday pressures of life. Traffic, money problems, and time constraints may not cause stress damage immediately but long periods of exposure to minor problems can cause mini fissures.

Finding Time for Health

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Do you think you are too busy to lead a healthy life? This is a common excuse given by people who just cannot seem to change their lives. I have news for you – even if your schedule is packed full, you still have time to be healthy.health1

One of the best things you can do for yourself is to drink enough water. The benefits of drinking water are vast and include improving your skin, digestive system, and circulatory system and aiding in weight loss. Drinking more water is especially important if you are using it to replace sugary drinks throughout the day. If you have a desk job, be sure to have a bottle of water sitting in front of you at all times. You will be surprised at how much you drink when it is sitting there.

Replace high-sugar foods with low-sugar versions. By doing so, you will reduce calories and weight gain. Do you suffer from energy slumps throughout the day? Most of the time these come from sugar withdrawal. If you consume less sugar during the day your body will get used to it and that lack of energy will disappear.

Stock up on healthy snacks. When you are running short on time and get hungry you are likely to grab whatever is quick and available. If you plan ahead and buy snacks such as baby carrots, almonds, yogurt, peanut butter or fruit you will be able to avoid situations where there are no healthy options.

Walk at any opportunity you have. It is not hard to park further away from store entrances, take stairs instead of the elevator, or get up from your desk for five minutes and take a walk around the office. You could even go so far as walking over to someone else’s desk rather than emailing them. If you have to meet with someone to discuss something quickly, ask them to take a short walk with you while you do so. These small amounts of exercise during the day can really add up.
